Itinerary

Your adventure begins with a convenient pickup from your downtown Chongqing hotel at around 8:30 AM. Relax in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle as you enjoy the scenic 1.5 hour drive to the Diaoyu Fortress.

Diaoyu Fortress
Founded in 1243, Diaoyu Fortress, perched on a hill surrounded by a river on three sides, is renowned for its valiant defense against the Mongol armies during the waning years of the Southern Song Dynasty. In 1259, the Mongol Khan Möngke met his demise during the siege of the fortress, forcing a hasty retreat of Mongol troops from Syria and signaling a significant turning point in their global conquest. Over the course of thirty-six years, from 1243 to 1279, the fortress endured more than two hundred military attacks, standing as a testament to its resilience.

Lunch Break
Savor a delicious Chinese-style lunch at a local halal eatery.

Hugang Guild Hall
Founded in 1891 as a gathering place for merchants from Hunan and Guangxi, Chongqing Hugang Guild Hall played a pivotal role in the economic and cultural growth of Chongqing during the late Qing Dynasty and the Republic of China. The guild hall showcases traditional Chinese architecture, featuring a central courtyard adorned with intricate carvings and a spacious main hall for meetings and events. Side rooms served as living quarters for the merchants. Today, it stands as one of the best-preserved ancient guild halls in southern China. Visitors can delve into the guild hall’s history through its museum, enjoy traditional Sichuan Opera performances, and explore local handicrafts.

Yikeshu Viewing Platform on Nanshan Mountain
The Yikeshu Viewing Platform, situated on South Mountain (Nanshan) in Chongqing, is a famous scenic spot that offers stunning panoramic views of the city and the Yangtze River. Positioned atop Nanshan Mountain, it provides an unmatched vantage point to take in Chongqing’s expansive cityscape. The platform is thoughtfully designed to harmonize with its natural surroundings, featuring a prominent tree at its center, which is why it’s called “Yikeshu” (One Tree). Whether you’re a photography enthusiast, a nature lover, or simply seeking a tranquil escape from the city’s hustle and bustle, the Yikeshu Viewing Platform promises a unique and memorable experience.

Return to Your Hotel
