Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
The hadith “Seek knowledge even unto China” encourages Muslims to pursue knowledge, even if it means traveling to distant lands. This hadith has motivated many Muslims, including Saʿd ibn Abī Waqqāṣ, a companion of the Prophet Muhammad, to journey to China. Saʿd is traditionally credited by Chinese Hui Muslims with introducing Islam to China in 651 CE during the reign of Emperor Gaozong of the Tang Dynasty. Traveling to China can be a rewarding experience for Muslims as it provides an opportunity to fulfill the hadith “Seek knowledge even unto China” and to gain new insights into the Islamic faith.
When traveling in China, Muslim travelers often have questions about where to find Halal food and where to perform Salat.
