Introducing Jimei School Village (from CITS)
Jimei School Village is located in Jimei District, where is northern suburb of Xiamen City connected to Xiamen Island by a 2,212 meters’ long causeway. Named Xiamen Bridge, this causeway is the first cross-strait bridge in China. Jimei School Village is a general name for all schools and cultural institutions in Jimei. It was built by Mr. Tan Kah Kee from 1913, containing a complete school system including primary schools, middle schools, high schools, a university, and a series of colleges including Xiamen Aquatic Products College, Jimei Navigation College, Jimei Finance and Economy Institute and Business Administration College. After decades of development, the village covers an area of over 100,000 square kilometers in total. Now there are more than 10,000 students studying in the college village. Jimei School Village is equipped with good facilities including auditoriums, swimming pools, stadiums, cinemas, hospitals and navigation clubs.

What to expect at Jimei School Village
Besides been famous for the complete school system and good facilities, Jimei School Village is attractive for blending Chinese architectural style with western architecture style. The unique building group has become a symbol of Jimei School Village. Daonan Lou in Jimei Middle School, Nanxun Lou in Overseas Chinese School and the Teaching Building of Navigation College are three most famous buildings of their unique design.
Turtle Garden in Jimei School Village is a beautiful and fancy garden constructed in 1950 by Mr. Tan Kah Kee on the former site of “Turtle Head Palace”. Jimei Liberation Monument stands in the centre of the garden. The garden houses several stone carvings presenting the Southern Fujian stone art.
Returnees’ Hall is walled by white stones and roofed with green tiles. It covers an area of 4,000 square meters, presenting a typical sample of south Fujian construction. The building is marked by Mr. Tan’s bronze statue in front. An exhibition of Mr. Tan Kah Kee’s life and achievements is on display, vividly presenting his whole life as a great leader of the patriotic overseas Chinese.
Jimei School Village owns a great reputation of highly dynamic and diversification level among overseas Chinese in Southern China. Inside the college, children of different nationalities doing sports, talking and playing together could be seen everywhere.

• Take Metro Line 1 to Jimei School Village.
• Take Bus 655, 658, 903, 919, 921, 922, 928, 930, 953, 954, 959, 983, 993 or Jiyou Line 1 to Jimei School Village.
• Rent a car/bus from GGC to enjoy a hassle free private transfer from hotels in Xiamen to Jimei School Village.
