Xiamen Mosque was first built during the reign of Daoguang of the Qing Dynasty. In 1982 the Xiamen Government funded the renovation of Xiamen Mosque and preserved the original wooden couplets and a wooden board carving. The Xiamen Mosque which is seen today was reconstructed and completed in 2003.
